Hole 11 — 392 yards, Par 4
Don't be fooled by the distance of the hole. The 11th is a difficult, entirely uphill par 4 that has acted as the spoiler to many a good round. A long and straight drive that finds the fairway is a must. Be careful not to hook. The second shot is a long iron over a deep barranca that opens at the very front edge of the green. A useful rule of thumb is to take an extra club length on the approach, but stay below the hole, avoid downhill putts at all cost. The putting green is one of the toughest on the course, so even when on in regulation, don't relax.
— Ken Woods, Head Pro
Take 2 extra clubs for your approach shot. Aim at the left edge of the green — or whatever it takes to be sure you take the baranca out of play. Even when the flag is red (which it is most of the time) use the center of the green distance as your guide. Bogey is a good score on this hole. Most pars are obtained by one putts. A bad approach on this hole can get you a big number. Many times if the third shot is from short of the green and the flag is red the shot can be played beyond the flag and let the green feed the ball back to the hole. If the flag is blue prayer is strongly advised.
