A tight squeeze between evergreens on both sides. The large sweet gum tree growing out of the bunker 50 yards from the green was removed. It further narrowed a hole which was already quite narrow and stymied recoveries from the bunker (not to mention the fact that it was diseased and not part of the original course design). A non-original bunker guarding the front-left of the green was removed and the natural mounding restored. Other bunkers were recontoured and lost putting surface, primarily in the back portion (see original photo) was restored.
The pages below provide before & after photographs of various holes at Pasatiempo Golf Club that have recently or are currently undergoing restoration work prescribed by Tom Doak’s master plan.
