Marion Hollins: World Golf Hall of Fame

March 8, 2020: Pasatiempo’s founder, Marion Hollins, was elected by the World Golf Hall of Fame Selection Committee to be in the class of 2021. She shares this prestigious honor with Alister MacKenzie, Pasatiempo’s course architect (class of 2005). Other class of 2021 inductees are Tiger Woods, Susie Maxwell Berning, and Tim Finchem.

Long-awaited water deal finally comes to pass for Pasatiempo

Pasatiempo inked a  30 year deal to bring recycled water to the course saving over 40 million gallons of fresh water annually. The storage tank, filtration station and pump station was constructed behind the 13th green. We are online with our new water supply system which now provides us access to three different irrigation water sources; Potable (from the City of Santa Cruz), Recycled (from the City of Scotts Valley) and well water (from our well on the 12th hole).

Pasatiempo: A Case Study in Water Conservation

Like many golf courses in the West, Pasatiempo Golf Club has been challenged by rising water costs and unpredictable water availability. In response, the club has taken steps to decrease overall water use, improve the precision of irrigation, and diversify their water supply. Removing acres of irrigated turf, connecting to recycled water, and upgrading the irrigation system are some of the significant investments they made to transform how the course uses water.
